MS Access Limitations

Hi, I am wondering what are the limitations of MS Access 2000 database in
terms of number of records per table. Any help will be appreciated.

This is what I found:

MS Access 97:

Max mdb file size: 1GB
Max objects in database: 32768
Max modules in database: 1024
Max object name length: 64
Max password length: 14
Max user/group name length: 20
Max users connected to database: 255
Max record length (without Memos and BLOBs): 2048
Max fields in table: 255
Max nested transactions: 7

MS Access 2000:

Max mdb file size: 2GB
Max table size: 1GB
Max objects in database: 32768
Max modules in database: 1000
Max object name length: 64
Max password length: 14
Max user/group name length: 20
Max users connected to database: 255
Max record length (without Memos and BLOBs): 2048
Max fields in table: 255
These are the only limitations of Access. So if your number of records dont
hit any of the above limitations, then you're OK...

Thanks Chris!
I am wondering if number of records go up to 300,000 what would happen in
terms of performance. I should give it a try!

I would. Just make up a few querids to clone records as needed.

Ultimately it will depend on what is being done with those 300k recs and how
they're indexed.

I've got one table with about that number in the form of yield history records
for securities. No problems here - but all we do is add to the table once or
twice a day and select values for reporting.
