Limiting CPU usage

Hi,

I am using UDB DB2v8.1(ESE) on win2000. Is there any way of
setting up UDB DB2 so that it only uses 1 CPU on a 2 CPU server.

This is because I have the license for 1 CPU processor. I donot
want to buy an additional CPU processor license.

Can somebody throw light.

cheers

DB2 does not have function to ignore the second CPU. Some operating
systems have this (i.e. processor sets on Solaris - Sun can tell DB2 to
ignore certain CPUs). Not sure about Windows 2000 capabilities in that area.

You can set processor affinity with the DB2PROCESSORS registry variable.

However, you need to talk to your IBM rep -- I seriously doubt that this
would be considered to be compliant with the terms of the license agreement.
