standalone MS-Access application

Hi,
I have a fully functional MS-Access database.
May I build such an "exe" file from a MS-Access
"mdb" file which one who has not MS-Access
installed on his/her system can take advantage of the
database? is it possible to have an standalone
MS-Access application with no need to use the MS-Access
environment itself ?

I hope it's not just me but I think there should be a quick one-liner in the
FAQ about this question which is getting to be as old as the hills now.
Then if someone new can be pointed gently in the FAQ's direction, they've
got a direct link to the appropriate page on say the Access Web.

No, you cannot build an "exe" file from an "mdb" file. To do what you are
suggesting, you must purchase the MS Office Developer Suite that has the
"RunTime" Packager software to produce standalone, royalty-free MS Access
databases. This runtime database can be used on computers without the full
version of MS Access installed.

You mean like the one at http://www.mvps.org/access/general/gen0001.htm
which has been there for a long, long time?

I strongly recommend visiting and spending some time looking around The
Access Web, http://www.mvps.org/access, including the netiquette page
http://www.mvps.org/access/netiquette.htm which offers good suggestions for
effective use of newsgroups.
