VB 6.0 and Access Database

hi,

I am trying to connect Access database to a VB 6.0 Form. When i click on 'Recordsource property' a message box says "unrecognized database format 'C:\ Documents and Settings\somebody's name\Desktop\trial\db1.mdb' and when i click on help, it says "The MSDN collection does not exist. Please, install MSDN". The database, 'db1' and the VB forms also are
found in the folder 'trial' on the desktop. What should i do?

Please, email me to tell me where should i look for the relpy.
Thanks

Hi there,

Please upgrade you MDAC, the latest is version 2.8. Place the access database outside desktop area. Kindly follow the below attached link to download MDAC 2.8, hope it helps. Good luck & Take care.

Hi there,

I doubt that would be the solution, reason why, the error "unrecognized database format" is a common error message when your trying to open access 97 files. In order ro fix the error MDAC need to be updated. Anyway, hope you solution work. Take care.
