Default web sites menus and sub menus have no background color

I am running windows xp home. I usually browse with firefox, but other browsers issue the same result. I have no background color in my sub menus, side menus, and most other portions of most web sites. In fact most web sites come up black and white with ony link highlights in blue. I believe this may have occurred after selecting and entering code from Thomas' myspace editor in order to customize my home page there. I have since removed the code from my profile but nothing has changed. Help?

Which version of Firefox?
Do you have an extensions installed?

Look under the menu

View -> Page Style

is "No Style" or "Basic Page Style" checked?
