I noticed that a lot of posters don't read or can't read the JDK 6 documentation
with all it's core classes neatly explained. May I suggest that at the least put this link in your bookmarks or favorites list and pay attention to the link
on that page in the top right corner: you can even download the entire thing
which is extremely handy when you're out of reach of your wireless network
(e.g. at the beach).
You can even bookmark the JLS link!
So next time you have no excuse anymore ;-)
kind regards,
Jos

That is a very good tip indeed.
I bumped this thread just because I felt like it ;-)

If you're going to keep bumping this, why not just Stick it?

Yes I know but there are two sticky posts in this Java group already. I thought
that people don't like too many sticky posts and my guess is (just a guess)
that when I bump this post now and then it would receive a bit of attention.
People don't read anymore nowadays and most of the questions wouldn't have
been asked if people did read the Java API docs. I'm afrraid that reading has
become an ancient lost form of art ;-)

Big bump.
Lest we forget .
Question: Does java have its own set of posting guidelines? Perhaps you could add that if you're going to post a question, why not check out the *link to javadocumentation* first?
It's just that... eventually won't you get tired of bumping this? There has to be a better solution... I mean... maybe?

We didn't want that tip as a 'sticky' so we play volleyball with it whenever necessary
and we simply bump it up now and then.
kind regards,
Jos
ps. people don't read anymore unless you smash the text in their faces ;-)

That works for you?! I've moved on to the denial stage: "They are reading the text! They are!"
