Is this the right forum for ASP.NET questions?

Question posted by: jhardman (Moderator) on July 12th, 2007 03:58 AM
"I have an ASP.NET question. Should I post it here in the ASP forum, or in the .NET forum?"

This is a question which comes up all the time. Generally the answer is "The entire .NET package goes together, so if you have an ASP.NET question, try posting it in the .NET forum first." The truth is that most ASP experts started long before .NET came up. I'm sure I wouldn't know what to do with a datagridview if it was served to me on a bed of lettuce.

Of course there will be some overlap, and although we generally frown on double-posters, if you really think a "classic asp" expert should look at your question, feel free to post here as well. I might delete your post, but I won't ban you from the scripts <I say ryely, anticipating the feeling of absolute authority that comes from weilding my superhuman "moderating powers">

Let me re-phrase.

Please do not post ASP.NET questions in this forum. Those questions belong in the .NET forum.
