vb installation problem

hi experts,

i am installing vb6 in my computer, its OS is Windows xp and it's Pentium 4, it is installed correctly. but when i open the vb6.exe, it shows the windows installer with preparing to install. it does not go even after, when i clicked the cancel button, then also it shows the windows installer.
i have installed microsoft visual studio dot net 2005 on this computer before installing vb6, now i have uninstalled dot net 2005. is it giving me the problem? after long time of waiting it shows the message box
"... visio UML Visual Basic addin' has caused an access violation"
"do you want to remove it from the list of add-ins?"

what does it mean? i try to find, but could not get it in the microsoft.com too.
what shall i do? any body knows, what's the problem?
