ifstream problem

9 New Member
Hello ppl,
I am trying to read an input (ofcourse) ..... but the name of the file is dependent on a user input from the console.
How can i use that name (its stored in some string variable) to build up the name of the file which is to be opened by ifstream ??

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Sid

I would use a few variables. One would keep the path name (because you can't trust the user to put it in correctly), and then another would read from stdin and be the actual file name. Then just append the two strings. http://www.cplusplus.com/reference/clibrary/cstring/
