scp login

I have had trouble transferring files using scp,
is there any way that i could use the RSAAuthentication instead of the default password authentication mechanism to transfer my file.
Am not sure how to use the ssh_option or the ssh_config related to this.
How can i embed these options into my scp for my file transfer.
