Flash .swf file will not play...

Question posted by: SMinnett (Newbie) on July 2nd, 2008 06:08 PM
Hello everyone, I am relatively new to it all. Web development, css, html, forums, etc. I have a huge problem. I am attempting to make the switch from designing in Dreamweaver using tables to using CSS instead. I am redesigning a website, the company wants to use all the same design elements but restructure the site and add a flash banner . The site was originally designed using CSS and all design elements are already uploaded to their server. I have successfully restructured everything and added the new elements all but the flash banner which, when I test it ( on Mac, PC, on FF, IE,Safari, Opera) appears as a blank space. I have searched the internet for days and have found no answers. I have experimented with differents methods, but still no solutions. Is there is anyone who can help me figure this out? I am desperate. Doing a good job on this could mean employment as I am currently unemployed. I am running Windows Vista and using DreamWeaver and Flash 8. Pllllleeeaaassseee Heeelp!

Re: Flash .swf file will not play...
This usually is a symptom of bad link to the flash swf file.

put the file in the same directory and make sure your links to it are correct.

Windows creates the space with the <embed> tags, but won't load anything because it can't find it.
