Controls are tracing along when data is more

Hi Guys,

I have a unique problem on my hand, if possible pls try to help me in this.

We have a rich winform client in which we are doing lot of customized painiting.
Now if in our application number of records are more lets say around 20K then the whole application is kind of getting slowed down.
So if we even try to move a simple panel it takes some time to redraw itself at its new location.

One thing i noted that while moving a control cpu usage was shotting up considerably.

I m working in visual studion 2003 with .net framework 1.1.

Also if i tried running my application in 2.0 it works flawlessly.

So dont know wat exact problem is here.

Any suggestion are most welcome.
