Question posted by: myqueries (Newbie) on August 13th, 2008 12:45 PM
HI Friends..

I am not aware of networking much, but i do have a requirement where i have to register a domain name programatically .i am using .Net for this. But before i would like to know how a domain name is registered in the Dns registry.I heard it maps with an Ip address.but what if i have two domain names are from same .Is there any way(code) where we can search for domain name availability and register accordingly..

Thanks In Advance

For how DNS works, you can start at the Wikipedia entry. As for the API you are looking for? I would start with a Google search. From there you can check the different registrars and see if they have any API's available.

Jeff
