We are currently seeking an intelligent, sophisticated Java developer with 3+ years experience in the following skills:
B2B application experience (connecting your application to applications as other companies)
experience with intense (high transaction rate), highly threaded applications
Java programming with J2EE, EJBs, and JMS in a multi-server environment
Java application server experience (we use BEA WebLogic)
strong communication skills, including technical writing (comfortable talking to technical and nontechnical customers and helping them set up B2B connections)
JDBC and SQL
Some of the other technologies used at TMC include: XML, cvs, ant, IDEA, tomcat, JSP, Javascript/AJAX, DHTML, CSS, Perl, and PHP. Financial industry experience is not required but would be a definite plus.
The primary role of this position is to support and enhance the Java code in our B2B application servers. These servers use FIX and our own XML-based API to communicate with partners using MQSeries (aka Websphere MQ), TIBCO Rendezvous, or TCP sockets as a transport. Additionally, there will be Java programming in our application core, back end, and middle tier. Candidates must be very comfortable working with others, friendly, and easy to get along with. You must be flexible, dedicated, and a team player!
Trading hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM; candidate must be available during these hours, as well as the occasional after-hours work involved in software releases. Also, as part of the nature of a small company, candidates will be expected to "wear multiple hats", and will be working on a variety of projects.
